Submission Guidelines

All authors whose abstracts have been selected for presentation must send a full version (between 3,000 and 5,000 words) by 15 April 2015. This full article will be made available to all participants on the event website, password protected, by the end of April. By making the content available beforehand we hope to improve the quality of debates and discussions during the event.

On the list of approved abstracts you will find a number given to your contribution. The name of your final document must carry this number (for example: abstract123.doc) and must be sent to lavits.org@gmail.com.

As there is no registration fee, applicants and attendees shall bear travel and accommodation expenses. For more information please visit: lavitsrio2015.medialabufrj.net.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Full version papers must be sent in ODT or DOC/WORD format, Calibri font, size 12, 1.5 spacing and justified paragraph. Pages have to be numbered and in A4 format. Please make sure that articles are between 3,000 and 5,000 words and formatted according to the following guidelines.

1) Title and identification:

Title in Portuguese [Calibri font 14, bold, justified, simple line spacing, 12 pts. before and 6 pts. after]

Title in English [Calibri font 12, italic, justified, simple line spacing, 12 pts. before and 6 pts. after]

Title in Spanish [Calibri font 12, italic, justified, simple line spacing, 12 pts. before and 6 pts. after]

NAME OF THE AUTHOR*
[Calibri font 10, capitals, justified, simple line spacing, 12 pts. before and 6 pts. after; authorship information, affiliation and e-mail, as footnote]

* Institutional affiliation, highest title and complete address and e-mail.

2) Abstracts:

Authors must provide abstracts in all three languages of the event (Portuguese, English and Spanish. Abstracts must be between 150 and 300 words, Calibri font 10, justified, simple line spacing, 0 pt before and 6 pts. after. A list of 3 to 5 keywords (separated by comma) must be provided after the abstract.

3) Main body of the text:

Calibri font, size 12, justified, 1.5 line spacing throughout the whole paper (except for direct citation, which should be simple line spacing).
– Title Level 1: CAPITALS, bold, Calibri font, size 12, left-aligned text and unnumbered. Example: TITLE LEVEL 1;
– Title Level 2 (subtitle): bold, Calibri font, size 12, left-aligned text and unnumbered. Example: Title Level 2;
– Title Level 3: must be avoided. If extremely necessary to the text, use Calibri font, size 12, in italic, left-aligned text and unnumbered. Example: Title Level 3;

4) Notes:

Observations inserted in the body of the paper must be indicated by Arabic numerals indicated immediately after the sentence to which they refer, yet must be kept to a minimum. Footnotes must appear on the same page as the sentences they refer to (Calibri font 9, justified, simple line spacing, 3 pts. before).

5) Figures and tables:

Images and tables must be incorporated into the text. Images must be mentioned in the text as figures and, as well as tables, be presented with their respective captions (Calibri font, size 12, bold, centralized paragraph, above the image) and sources (Calibri font, size 10, centralized paragraph, below the image).

6) References:

Present only the references of authors mentioned in the text, following the norms of the American Psychological Association – APA. Display them at the end of the text in alphabetical order by surname. Present the name of all the authors; do not use the expression “et al.”. In case of more than one reference by the same author, list publications in chronological order starting with the oldest publication. When in doubt, always observe and give preference to the APA norms found in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
